Accessing Ensembl Regulatory Annotation

The most up-to-date annotation, including activity, can be explored at regulation.ensembl.org .

Regulation data for release 116 can be accessed through:

Browser access

Regulation data can be selected from the Location Tab. You can configure the Region in detail panel to display tracks linked to regulation.

The Regulation tracks are grouped into subdivisions:

  • Regulatory Features: these can be visualised using the 'Regulatory features' track.
  • Motif features: for human and mouse, a track showing transcription factor (TF) motif hits validated by ChIP-seq of the corresponding TF.
  • Activity by Cell/Tissue: select the tissue or cell type (epigenome) of interest to display peaks, signal and regulatory feature activity across the genome.
  • Other regulatory regions: imported tracks from external databases.
